Smokey is a handsome 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He weighs around 60 pounds and is already neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, all ready to find his forever home! Smokey has a low to moderate energy level; he loves to play with his canine companions but also enjoys relaxing on the couch for some quality cuddle time. He's a super sweet, smart, and kind-hearted boy who is incredibly affectionate and just wants all the love and attention. Described as gentle and easygoing, Smokey is a total couch potato who will happily hang out and relax with you. He's a loyal companion who desires nothing more than to be part of a family and will happily curl up beside you for some gentle companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would also thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. Due to his separation anxiety, Smokey would be best suited for someone with a house, not an apartment, and ideally someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and only does his business outside. He walks great on a leash, though he can be a little nervous around strangers and may bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He does pull slightly at the beginning of a walk but settles down and walks calmly. Smokey is not a huge fan of being crated and prefers not to be shut in. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear things up and eventually stops crying.

Transporation
Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. He is eligible for transport to an adopter once one is lined up.
