Hello, my name is River! I'm a neutered male Hound/Terrier mix, approximately 1 year old and weigh 47 lbs. I was rescued from a cruelty case and am now looking for my forever family. I'm a bright, food-motivated boy who is eager to learn. I love to be active, whether that's hiking, playing fetch, or practicing my commands. After a good play session, I enjoy some "spa time" with cuddles and body rubs, and I nap to help me relax. I'm crate trained and find comfort in a frozen Kong or a long-lasting bone. I'm also a good napping passenger when it's time to travel!

Ideal Home

I would do best in a quiet home without other animals, but I am trained with encountering them while out and about. I would also do best with older children. I love playing outside and would love a fenced-in yard, though it's not a dealbreaker with the right home.

Ongoing Health

I am microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.

Training & Support

I have been professionally trained and have a solid foundation of skills like sit, down/stay, here, place, and heel. I am still a young dog with a "puppy" spirit, so I require a leader who will be patient and consistent. I am doing well with my house training when given frequent opportunities to go outside.
