Meet Clara, a one-year-old Lab/Husky mix weighing 40 pounds. Clara is a sweet and gentle girl who is looking for a patient family to help her learn that the world can be a safe place. She came to us through Animal Control after being removed from a difficult situation and is still adjusting to all the changes in her life.

Training & Support

Right now, Clara can be timid, flighty, and unsure in new environments. Because of this, we recommend keeping her on a leash indoors for the first few weeks, allowing it to drag behind her so she can be safely guided when needed. We also recommend leash-walking her in a secure yard until she becomes comfortable with her new family and surroundings, as frightened dogs may try to escape when they are unsure of where they are. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Clara is likely to blossom into a loving and devoted companion.

Transporation

Clara is located at the Yakima Humane Society. We offer same-day adoptions for spayed/neutered pets. We can also arrange transport within a reasonable distance.
