Jersey

Jersey is a joyful, 5- to 6-year-old Staffy girl who was rescued from the streets of Houston, TX in April 2024. She's a tail-wagging wiggle butt who loves pets and cuddles, and she always wants to be the center of attention. Jersey is a people-pleaser at heart and is eager to make her humans happy. She responds well to simple commands and redirection, and she'll definitely sit for treats! Jersey is happy living the indoor city life. She is potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained. However, she prefers to free-roam her home as much as possible, where she can find a comfy spot on the couch and chill.

Ideal Home

Jersey seems content as an only dog, but she also gets along nicely with smaller and similarly sized or slightly larger dogs with proper introductions. She has not been cat tested, but she has shown curiosity and not aggression when encountering neighborhood cats. Jersey is a big fan of her antlers and bones. In shared spaces, it would be best for her to be with another dog who either doesn’t care about her chew items or is willing to share. Alternatively, she can be temporarily crated so she can enjoy her treasures without interruptions.

Ongoing Health

Jersey is spayed, fully vaccinated, and up-to-date on DHPP, Bordetella, and rabies vaccines. She is also heartworm negative and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventative.

Training & Support

Jersey is house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained. She responds well to simple commands and redirection.
