Meet Hopper, a handsome Catahoula Leopard Dog born in December 2022, weighing 50lbs. Hopper is a smart, energetic, and athletic boy who absolutely adores playing with his people. His favorite activities include chasing a ball, playing tug-of-war, and having fun with a flirt pole. While he's more of a people-oriented dog and doesn't have a strong interest in playing with other dogs, he does have a high prey drive, making him a better fit for a home without cats. Hopper can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but with slow introductions and a little patience, he blossoms into the most loving, friendly, and goofy companion. He thrives on engaging with his humans and is eager to learn, already mastering recall, down, place, and heel. He rides well in the car, is fantastic in his crate, and tolerates nail trims like a champ. Although he can be calm around cats with supervision, his strong prey drive means he'd be best in a home without them.
Ideal Home
Hopper would thrive in an active home that can provide him with plenty of opportunities to play and explore, both in the yard and on adventures outside the house. He needs an owner committed to ongoing training, socialization, and giving him the guidance he needs to succeed.
Ongoing Health
Hopper is up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, is neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Hopper is doing well with obedience training and has learned recall, down, place, and heel. He needs continued training and socialization to ensure his success in a new home.
