Hi there! My name is Snooker, and I'm a three-year-old Terrier mix weighing about 42 pounds. I was rescued from severe hoarding conditions and now I'm ready to find the loving forever home I deserve. I'm a mellow, easygoing guy with a wonderfully relaxed personality, and if there's a cozy couch nearby, that's probably where you'll find me! I love being part of the family and spending time with my people. While I enjoy treats, sometimes I'm simply too comfortable lounging around to be persuaded to get up.
When my family leaves the house, I'm happy hanging out in the backyard. I may bark or whine for a few minutes, but then I settle in with a chew toy, find a shady spot, and keep an eye on the neighborhood. I take my role as home security supervisor very seriously! I'll happily let you know when someone is passing by, but I'm all bark and no bite. Some of my favorite things include chewing on my toys, going for walks, getting my back scratched, belly rubs (when I can be convinced to roll over!), and snuggling on the couch with my humans. I get along well with other dogs but would prefer a home without cats. While I haven't spent much time around children, my gentle nature suggests I would likely do best with older, respectful kids. Basically, I'm a total sweetheart with an affectionate personality that makes me impossible not to love. I'm the perfect size - not too big and not too small - and I have an energy level that's just right.
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a loving home where I can be an only dog and the center of your attention! I would prefer a home without cats. While I haven't spent much time around children, my gentle nature suggests I would likely do best with older, respectful kids.
Ongoing Health
I am neutered and in good health. I do have a luxating patella, but it doesn't cause me any pain, and I take a Rejensa joint supplement to help keep my joints healthy. I am also working on shedding a few extra pounds and getting back to my ideal weight.
Training & Support
I am potty trained and working on my leash manners, as I tend to pull hard when I see bunnies or bushes I want to sniff. I am a smart boy who would thrive with some consistent training and guidance. I also have mild separation anxiety but typically settle down quickly after my family leaves. If left without something appropriate to chew on, I may decide your slippers or pillows look like fair game, so keeping a few toys around is always a good idea!
