Meet Momma Cherry – A Gentle Soul Waiting for Her Happy Ending
Momma Cherry is a sweet, gentle, calm, and affectionate 4.5-year-old, 17 lb Chihuahua mix who is easygoing, obedient, and well-behaved. Because of her past, she can be shy and fearful in new environments and around new people, and she needs a little time to build trust. Once she feels safe, her loving and loyal personality truly shines. Cherry’s story began in a rural area of Mexicali, Mexico, where she was found struggling to survive, accompanied by her three older puppies and later six newborn babies. She was very hungry and sick with ehrlichia. Cherry and her puppies were immediately taken to a veterinarian, where they received the care they desperately needed, and were then placed in a loving foster home. Her puppies have all grown, and most have found their forever families. Now, it’s Cherry’s turn to be chosen.
Ideal Home
Cherry would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell and feel secure. She gets along well with other dogs and seems to prefer male dogs.
Ongoing Health
Cherry is fully vetted, including being vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, spayed, and receiving flea and tick prevention. She was previously sick with ehrlichia but has received veterinary care and is now healthy and ready for adoption.
Training & Support
Cherry is described as obedient and well-behaved. She may be shy and fearful in new environments and around new people, so patience and understanding will be key to helping her build trust and feel secure.
