About Cleo

Cleo is a lovely 4-year-old, 30 lb. Labrador mix who was rescued in November 2023 after being found injured in the street with a fractured leg. Though her leg healed a bit crookedly, she has no special needs and is a perfectly happy and grateful dog! Cleo is described as loyal, shy, loving, calm, and well-behaved. She's also a pro in the car, on leash, and crate trained!

Ideal Home

Cleo would thrive in a home that is willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to show their best personality. An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking would be a great fit. A fenced backyard is also preferred. Families should have an open mind about the behaviors of street animals and understand their need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is a plus, as is high tolerance and patience for rescued pups.

Ongoing Health

Cleo is up-to-date on her vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella) and has been spayed/neutered, dewormed, and tested for heartworm (negative) and other common diseases (4DX test). She receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

While Cleo is leash, crate, and car trained, she is not house-trained. The rescue notes that it's an impossible job to house-train every foster pet due to their extensive rehabilitation efforts. Cleo's adopters should be prepared to work on house training with patience and consistency.
