Meet Leon! This handsome 1-year-old, approximately 30-pound lab mix is a truly special boy. Rescued in March 2024, Leon was found with his siblings in a field. He's a loving, intelligent, and obedient companion who's also incredibly playful and energetic. Leon is sociable with everyone, including children and other dogs, and he adores affection. While he might be a little shy when first meeting new people, he quickly melts into your arms once he feels comfortable. He's also dog and cat friendly! Leon is a joyful soul who loves to play, go for walks, and cuddle. He's already crate and leash trained, making him a fantastic candidate for his forever home.
Ideal Home
Leon would thrive in a home with active families who enjoy outdoor activities and are experienced with dog behavior and training. He needs owners with an open mind about the needs of rescued animals, including their potential for requiring protection and education. Patience and high tolerance are key, as he is not house-trained. Homeowners with a fenced backyard are preferred.
Ongoing Health
Leon has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being neutered, receiving DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventatives and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Leon is not house-trained, which is common for rescued animals. His foster parents are unable to provide individual house-training due to the number of pets they care for. Adopters should be prepared to work on this with patience and consistency, alongside his existing crate and leash training.
