Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, though she's a bit shy at first. She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and Trix, being the more timid of the two, needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. Though she's fearful of new people, she has never shown any reactivity. When unsure, she prefers to hide in a quiet spot. Trix is incredibly observant, learns quickly, and is very smart – she mastered the doggy door in just a couple of days! With patience and time, she begins to soften, playing with toys, enjoying the company of other dogs, and eventually cuddling with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around most of the time to provide consistency and help her build trust. She would thrive with a confident canine companion to learn from, but adopters without another dog should have a plan for socialization and confidence building.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around children and is shy initially. Her history with cats is unknown. She needs a patient and committed family to help her build confidence and discover the world isn't so scary.
