Athena the Prys

Athena is a beautiful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees with the classic sweetness and loyalty the breed is known for. She absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship—whether it’s getting affection, lounging nearby, or simply being part of the family. Athena is ready to find a confident, loving home where she can truly shine!

Ideal Home

Athena does best as the only female dog in the home. She is comfortable around male dogs but is not a good match for homes with other female dogs. She’d love a home that understands her need for gentle structure, regular exercise, and a secure yard where she can safely enjoy keeping watch. With the right adopter, Athena will be an incredibly loyal, devoted companion and a wonderful addition to a breed-savvy household. An experienced Great Pyrenees (or similar breed) owner is recommended.

Ongoing Health

All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. The adoption fee of $400 covers food, vetting, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. Breed and size are our best guess and not guaranteed.

Training & Support

Because of her breed traits—independence, strong guarding instincts, and a need for confident guidance—she will do best with someone who has prior experience with Great Pyrenees or other livestock guardian breeds.
