Meet Groot, a 3-year-old male Akita with a heart as big as his 100lb+ frame! This handsome boy is a true "gentle giant," known for his easy-going, calm, and sweet demeanor. Groot absolutely adores his squeaky toys and carries himself with a confident air. He's a fan favorite among our staff and volunteers, who are always eager to spend time with him when he's out and about. You'll know he's interested in something when he adorably cocks his head, and his tail wags in a delightful circular motion, like a helicopter preparing for takeoff!

Ideal Home

Groot is looking for a loving home where he can continue to be the "goodest" of boys. Due to his limited known history with other dogs, he is listed as "dog-selective."
