Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyr who came to us from Texas, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home. Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman who craves affection and attention, though he's still learning how to show his excitement. We suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time!

Ideal Home

Alder would thrive in a home with a calmer, playful dog who can help him build confidence. He does well on a leash, so a fenced yard is ideal but not strictly necessary, as long as you're committed to regular walks. A home with children beyond the "screeching years" would also be suitable. Alder is not to be left to wander in the yard unsupervised, as he likely will not stay close to home.

Alder is healthy and has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Alder is protective of his food, so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs. He is still learning how to interact with other dogs and may need continued socialization to build his confidence.
