Meet Mo!
Mo is a soulful six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a beautiful tricolor coat. He's a sweet snuggler at 75 pounds, and while he may be large, he still believes laps are made for him! Mo is calm and low-energy indoors, and he bonds deeply once he feels safe, becoming a loyal shadow to his favorite person. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands. His favorite activity is snuggling close and soaking up affection, making quiet evenings on the couch feel like the coziest place on Earth. Unfortunately, the hustle and bustle of city life have become too much for Mo, and the noise, strangers, and unpredictable sounds leave him anxious and reactive.
Ideal Home
Mo's ideal home is a calm, structured environment in a quiet rural or suburban area with a securely fenced yard. He needs to be the only pet in the home, as he has a strong prey drive and unfamiliar animals can stress him out. He would also thrive in a home without cats and with limited visitors.
Ongoing Health
Mo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He needs to avoid poultry due to allergies and has mild arthritis in his hind legs, which doesn't stop him from cuddling with his favorite human.
Training & Support
Mo would do best with a guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs who uses positive reinforcement and has patience. Consistency and gentle companionship are key, and he'd do especially well with someone who works from home or has a predictable routine.
