Puppy Peter is a charming 8-week-old Retriever mix with a whole lot of love to give! He's a playful pup who enjoys toys and zoomies, but also loves to snuggle up for some downtime. Peter is ready to explore the world and make lots of furry friends, and he's eager to show off his smarts in puppy obedience classes. He's currently in Puerto Rico and dreaming of a forever home in the DC area.
Ideal Home
Peter would love a home where he can play with toys and get his energy out, followed by plenty of snuggles. He's also excited to explore his new neighborhood on walks and make new doggie friends. Because he's still young, he will need multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with standard 8-hour workdays must be willing to make arrangements to meet his needs.
Ongoing Health
Puppies Peter's age have received age-appropriate vaccines but may not be fully vaccinated yet. It is the adopter's responsibility to ensure remaining puppy vaccines are given on time. Until fully vaccinated, puppies are at a greater risk for illness. Peter has not yet been neutered, and it will be the adopter's responsibility to ensure this is done by November 11, 2026, with no exceptions or extensions. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Wags to pay for this procedure at one of their low-cost partner vets.
Training & Support
Peter will need to work on his house training and attend obedience school to grow into a well-socialized dog.

Peter is currently in a Puerto Rico shelter and needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get here. Transport to the DC area is included in the adoption fee.
