Meet Chad!
Chad is a 5-year-old, 50 lb Australian Cattle Dog/Aussie mix, with a dash of Border Collie and German Shepherd thrown in for good measure! He came to us as a stray and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. This handsome, fluffy boy is full of personality and ready to find his perfect match. Chad is sweet, loving, and an absolute character. He’s goofy, silly, and full of life, always ready to make you smile. He adores belly rubs, will happily flop over for attention, and is a total "leaner" who enjoys being close to his people.
As a smart and driven working breed mix, Chad thrives when he has a job to do. He'll need a home that understands how to keep both his mind and body engaged. He loves to learn and would do great with continued training, enrichment, and an active lifestyle filled with adventures like hiking, running, and exploring.
Ideal Home
Chad came from a more rural environment and would do best in a home outside of the city, where things are less overwhelming. He can become overstimulated in busy environments, which can lead to some reactivity. Because of his energy and sensitivity to overstimulation, he is not a good fit for homes with cats or young children.
Ongoing Health
Chad is up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.
Training & Support
Chad has made great progress with structure and consistency but will need continued socialization and a home that can provide structure, leadership, and outlets for his energy and intelligence. He can do well with other dogs but would likely do best with a female dog companion or as an only dog. He will thrive with an experienced adopter who understands working or herding breeds.
