Meet Ivan, the Iconic goofball with big ears and an even bigger heart! This year-and-a-half-old, 50-pound pittie/staffy-mix (rescue guess) is all wiggly enthusiasm and sweet charm. Ivan absolutely loves life and everything in it, especially toys! He’s a master at body-checking his herding ball and thinks fetch is the greatest game, though he might decide to keep the ball once in a while. He also enjoys a good romp in the water, channeling his inner splash star.
Ivan is a treat-motivated boy who warms up quickly. While he might seem a little reserved at first, once he bonds with you, he’s all about snuggles and will happily melt into your lap, despite his size. He’s eager to learn and enjoys training sessions.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female dog who enjoys playing but can also set clear boundaries. He needs a feline-free household as he views cats as fun, sprinting targets. He would do well with older children who can handle his zoomies, and with time and guidance, he could learn to give younger children plenty of space. A yard to play in, an active adopter, and someone who enjoys training and play with clear boundaries and routine would be ideal.

Training & Support
Ivan loves other dogs and is a great playmate, but he can get a bit too excited at times. He responds well to guidance from people or other dogs to take breaks. He can be a bit overwhelming for mellower or more insecure dogs due to his bouncy nature. He is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training a fun and rewarding experience.

Ivan is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
