Carl

Carl is a wonderful 6-year-old, 20-pound Miniature Poodle/Pomeranian mix who makes a great companion once his trust is earned. He loves to lie with his foster grandpa while watching TV and can be friendly, affectionate, and playful with those he's comfortable with. Carl adores his treats, whether they're specifically for dogs or healthy options like broccoli, carrots, or cauliflower. He enjoys chasing thrown balls (though he doesn't always bring them back!) and chewing on sticks.

Ideal Home

Carl needs an active and patient adopter without children. A small, secure fenced yard is an absolute necessity for Carl, as he enjoys spending significant time outdoors every day. He also loves car rides and exploring on leash walks.

Ongoing Health

Carl is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He is housetrained. Grooming and vet visits can be stressful for Carl. Currently, his foster grandpa can groom him over several days without sedation, but nail trims require a cloth muzzle and assistance from a vet tech. Prospective adopters will need a minimal stress strategy for grooming and a plan for safe veterinary visits and potential boarding situations.

Training & Support

Carl can bark at strangers but calms down when not forced to interact. He gets along well with other dogs and has shown interest in new canine friends. He is anxious around unknown humans outside his yard but will willingly walk with strangers and dogs when he senses no danger, seeking reassurance from his primary caregiver. He doesn't like going out in the rain without being leashed.
