Meet Princess Mari!
Mari's journey to finding her forever family is a truly unique one. She was found tossed over a fence at a junkyard, and an employee reached out for help. Initially, Mari was understandably fearful and injured, making it difficult to approach her. After a couple of nights of careful planning with a catch cage, she was safely rescued.
When she was picked up, it was clear she had been through a lot. Her lower eyelid was severely injured. Despite her rough start, Mari showed immense appreciation and affection once she realized she was safe. She spent time at the vet, where X-rays revealed a broken elbow that will heal on its own, and her eyelid was repaired as best as possible. She's on a long road to recovery but doesn't require special crate rest or medications. Mari was named in honor of Maria, the kind employee who alerted the rescue to her plight. The community rallied around Mari, sending well wishes for her safe rescue and recovery.
Mari is a tiny girl at just 24 lbs and will need a patient and understanding family. She has experienced so much in her short 8 months of life and loves everyone, given a little time.
Ideal Home
Mari needs a patient and understanding family. A fenced-in yard is required, with no exceptions.
Ongoing Health
Mari is recovering from a broken elbow that will heal on its own and an eyelid injury that has been repaired. She does not require special crate rest or medications at this time.
Training & Support
Mari is still learning to trust, but she is a loving dog once she feels comfortable. The rescue staff works diligently on crate and house training for all animals.
