Iris (Acton, Maine)

Iris is a 2-year-old spayed female who is up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She was originally rescued by a shelter down south and then transported to Maine in hopes of finding her forever home. Iris has had a couple of less-than-ideal adoption experiences, but this is not her fault. She is a very sweet girl who would likely do well with a male dog of similar size. She is a high-energy dog with a high prey drive.

Ideal Home

Iris needs a family experienced with her breed. She absolutely cannot live with cats, small dogs, or other small pets. A family that can meet her exercise needs is essential.

Iris is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and heartworm negative. She is microchipped.

Training & Support

Iris is high energy and has a high prey drive. A family that would like to train her for hunting would be wonderful, although she would probably do well in any environment where she had a job to do. She has shown great aptitude for scent work at the shelter.
