Trout

Meet Trout! This handsome boy was on the euthanasia list at a local shelter but was rescued by his foster mom, and we're all so lucky he was! Trout is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs.

Trout might look like a high-energy athlete, but he's surprisingly chill. He's happy to join you for a hike or a romp with his dog friends, but his favorite thing to do is relax on the couch. He can be a little shy at first with new people, needing a few minutes to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal companion. He's kennel and potty trained, walks well on a leash, and knows "sit." He gets along great with his foster siblings, but he does get a little too interested in squirrels and cats, so a home without them might be best. His one tiny flaw is that he absolutely despises taking medicine and will cleverly spit it out every time!

Ideal Home

Trout's dream home will include him in life's adventures, like camping trips, fishing weekends, and cozy evenings by the fire.

Ongoing Health

Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on preventatives.

Training & Support

Trout is well-trained and housebroken, but he needs help with his medication administration. He also shows a strong prey drive towards squirrels and cats.

Transporation

Trout is being fostered in Houston, Texas, and will be ready for transport to his forever home in mid-to-late July. He is available for transport to many areas across the country.
