Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome, almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is a bundle of pure sunshine, goofy charm, and the best boy energy you could ask for. Weighing around 60 pounds, Pondsy is a master of the "Pondsy Wiggle," which involves a full-body wiggle and an enthusiastic tail wag whenever he sees his favorite people, often followed by a plop for belly rubs. He's a loyal companion who loves to be included in all your adventures, from hiking trails to car rides, and he's just as happy to snuggle up after a day of fun. Pondsy adores other dogs and would likely do well with a playful, medium-energy female canine companion, but he's also perfectly content being the sole focus of your affection.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would thrive in a home with teenagers (13+) or adults who can provide him with plenty of love and attention. He's not a fan of cats, as they're a little too tempting for him, and he can be overwhelmed by small children. While he could adapt to apartment living (on the first floor) with sufficient exercise and mental stimulation, a home with a yard for him to play in would make him extra happy.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and has completed physical therapy, emerging stronger and happier. His back leg has a unique characteristic, but it doesn't hinder his zest for running, playing, and zooming!
Training & Support
Pondsy's foster parents have worked diligently on his training, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking. He's a smart pup who enjoys learning and will continue to blossom with consistent guidance.
