Loki is a brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods in a rural area outside of Houston along with his mother, Wanda, and his siblings. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to investigate something new and announcing his presence with gusto. He approaches life with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of adventure. He's an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys. Loki is potty trained and can be a cuddly lap buddy after a day of play. He loves people and other dogs and has greeted children happily at community events. He has some experience in a crate and has been around children, but has not yet been tested with cats. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Loki is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature into an exceptional adult dog.
Ideal Home
We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. Because Loki is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.

Training & Support
Loki is potty trained, but a few accidents should be expected as he adjusts to a new home. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is very important for a dog his age.
