Addie is a 4.5-year-old, spayed female pit bull terrier mix weighing about 45 pounds. She was rescued from a rough neighborhood known for being a dumping ground for pets, where she was found nearly hairless from mange, underweight, and having a lifetime of struggle. Now in a foster home, Addie is learning what it means to be a loved house dog and is proving to be a willing and promising pupil, embracing her new lease on life. She is crate trained and sleeps soundly in her kennel at night and while her foster is at work. While she's still perfecting her house manners, she may have an occasional accident as she settles into her new routine.
Ideal Home
Addie would thrive in a home that can provide her with 20-30 minutes of walkies twice a day and a yard for her to roam and run. She would love a male dog sibling to cuddle with and plenty of couches for her "Soft Life Era." While she's generally gentle and would likely do well with younger children, she might prefer older, calmer pre-teens and teenagers who understand and respect animal behavior cues. Supervised interactions are always recommended until everyone is well accustomed to each other.
Ongoing Health
Addie was rescued with mange and was significantly underweight. These issues have been addressed and she is now healthy and ready for her forever home.
Training & Support
Addie is a hungry girl and will try to eat everyone else's food, so feeding her separately is recommended. She is learning that she will get another meal and is improving with this. She is not super playful but may enjoy interacting with male dogs of similar or larger size (40-60 lbs). She is curious and pulls towards female dogs she encounters but hasn't found a playmate yet.
