About Honey

Honey is an 8.5-year-old Cattle Dog/Heeler mix, weighing 44 pounds. She was originally adopted in 2020 but was surrendered after her owner passed away. She's been with us since September 2025, and we're so glad to have her back! Honey absolutely adores playing with her toys, especially her squeaky ones. She'd play fetch all day long if you let her! She's a wonderful leash walker and enjoys walks, hikes, and sniffing strolls, and she has excellent recall! Honey loves receiving pets and scratches, and sometimes, when you hit just the right spot, she'll even purr! While Honey prefers to be the queen of her pack and can be selective about her friends, she does wonderfully in an office environment, happily coexisting with four other female dogs.

Ideal Home

Honey would love a home where she can be the queen of her pack.

Ongoing Health

Honey is managing arthritis, which comes with the joys of being 8 years old. She has good days and bad days regarding hip pain, but she does well with a daily joint supplement and Gabapentin. She'll let you know when she needs a rest day, but most of the time, she's ready for walks and play!

Training & Support

Honey is a great leash walker with excellent recall. She loves to play fetch with her favorite toys, like her "watermelon" squeaky toy, and enjoys a good chew.
