About Scooby Doo

Scooby is a fun-loving, happy, and goofy guy who was born at the kennel in February 2013. He'd make an excellent companion with someone who wants an older pal to go for a walk or small hikes and then come home and relax on the couch. Scooby does well with children and also does well with female dogs. He can be a little selective with some male dogs, but we are more than happy to do a meet and greet! We are unsure of how he would be with cats or small animals.

Ideal Home

Scooby would do well in a home with children and female dogs. We are unsure of his compatibility with male dogs, cats, or small animals, so introductions would need to be monitored carefully. As a former sled dog, Scooby is used to living in an outdoor, working environment. He will need to be house-trained and exposed to "house stimulus" such as stairs, cars, vacuums, and wood floors. He is also a high flight risk and must be kept on a leash or within a fenced yard at all times until proper recall training is achieved.

Ongoing Health

Scooby is a senior dog, born in February 2013.

Training & Support

Scooby will require ongoing house training and socialization to household stimuli. He also needs consistent exercise, including multiple walks daily and engaging toys when indoors, to prevent boredom, anxiety, and destructive behaviors. As a former sled dog, he is a high flight risk and requires strict supervision when outdoors.
