Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle mix who is as playful and spunky as they come! While her previous shelter listed her as 10, our private vet estimates she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma Jeane lives for the ball – her ideal day would consist of chasing it non-stop, with short breaks for naps. She is wonderful with people, and especially adores young children who are respectful around dogs. She follows the 4-year-old child in her foster home everywhere and they play ball together. She is very sweet, but she is not a cuddler and prefers to play or have her independence. If you're looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, Norma Jeane is just what you're looking for! She has a medium energy level; she'd enjoy going along for the ride but truly comes alive inside with a ball. Norma Jeane has not exhibited any separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam. She is great in the car and loves looking out the window. She coexists perfectly with the 3 other large dogs in her foster home, acting as if they aren't there. She would be fine living with another dog, but she does not like super energetic dogs that get in her space. A more laid-back dog would be great, but she would also be perfectly content as a solo dog!
Ideal Home
An adopter who wants to play fetch with Norma Jeane at least 4 times a day is required. She is not a lap dog and prefers play or independence over cuddling.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane successfully completed heartworm injections. She was unable to be spayed prior to treatment as heartworm treatment was the priority. Wags will work with the adopter on an appropriate spay date prior to her leaving.
Training & Support
Norma Jeane is not 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will go outside. However, if she isn't closely supervised, she may have an accident inside. She has not yet mastered signaling when she needs to go out. She does well in her crate and never potties in it.
