Meet Rusty! This handsome 2-year-old Hound and Boxer mix, weighing around 70 pounds, is looking for his forever family. Rusty is a true companion, happiest when he's by your side. Whether you're out exploring or relaxing at home, he's eager to be part of the action. He's a graduate of the Pups for Parole program, boasting excellent manners, including being potty trained, kennel trained, and a pro on the leash. Rusty loves to show off his learned commands and is always ready to please. He's also great with kids and cats, but he prefers to be the only dog in the house, as he can be uncomfortable around other canines.

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in a home with a privacy-fenced yard and would prefer to be the only dog. He is not suited for apartment living or homes with invisible fence systems.

Ongoing Health

Rusty's adoption fee is sponsored and includes his spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip.

Training & Support

As a Pups for Parole graduate, Rusty has excellent manners and knows many commands. He's smart and eager to please.

Transporation

Rusty is located in Springfield, MO. Out-of-state adoptions are available with vet references and a video home check. The adopter is responsible for transportation to and from the shelter, and for returning the dog if the adoption does not work out.
