Rusty

Rusty is a spunky 4-5 year old Black Mouth Cur and Shepherd mix who weighs about 50lbs. He's a short and squatty guy who loves to play, especially games of keep-away and chase! Rusty is up-to-date on all his shots, is heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. He knows his basic commands and is very motivated by food and treats! While he had some potty accidents in the shelter, he has been perfect in his foster home and is both potty trained and crate trained. He rides well in the car and doesn't experience any anxiety. Rusty isn't much of a long-distance hiker but would enjoy walks, runs, or playtime in his yard.

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in an active home that includes him in daily family activities and adventures. He needs a fenced yard and is not off-leash trained. He would not be a good apartment dog. He can live with a couple, a single person, or a family with children older than 10 years old, as his exuberance might knock over a younger child.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty is potty trained and crate trained. He knows his basic commands and is motivated by treats. He needs a fenced yard and is not off-leash trained.
