Willow is a charming Dachshund looking for a loving, permanent home where she can receive plenty of attention. Dachshunds are known for being personable and intelligent, but they do require extra time and patience for housetraining. We strongly encourage prospective adopters to learn as much as they can about the breed before applying.
Ideal Home
Willow would thrive in a home that can provide her with lots of attention. Potential adopters must be over 21 and able to verify that pets are allowed where they live. A securely fenced yard is a must. Due to the breed's predisposition to spinal injuries, homes with large breed dogs that may pose a risk of injury to a dachshund will not be considered. Homes with cats are generally not suitable, as Dachshunds tend to view cats as prey.
Ongoing Health
All dogs in our care receive comprehensive veterinary treatment. This includes being spayed/neutered, fully immunized, tested for parasites and heartworms (with treatment if necessary), receiving a basic blood profile, and undergoing a dental cleaning (unless too young). Any identified health issues are treated to ensure the dog is in excellent health upon adoption.
Training & Support
As mentioned, Dachshunds require extra time and patience for housetraining. We recommend researching the breed to be fully prepared for this aspect of care.
