Moose

Moose is a handsome 3-year-old Terrier mix with a striking red merle coat that gives him a unique, granite-like appearance. This 62lb gentleman came to us as a stray on March 6th, 2026. He was previously adopted from our shelter in September 2025 but was rehomed due to landlord issues. Sadly, he was then found abandoned near Woolmarket Elementary School before being picked up by animal control. Moose is a resilient boy who deserves all the love and stability in the world! He's ready to find his truly forever home.

Ideal Home

Moose enjoys his independence but is friendly and eager to meet new people. He can be a bit of a lap dog at times, forgetting his size! He's good with older children (10+) and can coexist with other dogs, though proper introductions are always recommended. A fenced yard is not a requirement.

Ongoing Health

Moose's adoption fee includes being spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped.

• The adoption contract will be discussed and signed before the adoption is final.

Transporation

Moose is currently located at HSSM. Transportation is available to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Adoptions are not final until the contract is signed. Transports are typically arranged within 1-3 weeks of application approval. Adopters will meet at a designated location to pick up their new pet. We are unable to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time due to import regulations. For more information on transports, please email transport@hssm.org.
