Lola is a 1-year-old Hound mix with a cropped tail and short-medium length fur. She weighs 22kg and was transferred to our rescue from another Ontario Rescue. Lola is a very loving and playful gal who enjoys playing with other dogs, though she can play a bit hard for her size. She was previously described as "mouhthy," but this behavior has completely resolved in her foster home where she has plenty of opportunities to play with other dogs. Lola runs very fast and can look like a deer from behind. She is very affectionate with people, loves to lay on laps or beside you on the couch, and gives kisses. She is game for any toy she can carry in her mouth. Lola will make a very loyal member of her family.
Ideal Home
Lola needs a home with another dog, preferably a male, who enjoys playing hard. Older children (10+) would be fine. She requires a steady diet and a family where someone is home part of the day. As a high-energy adolescent, she will need mental stimulation, especially if her canine companion isn't a keen playmate. Due to her hound mix breed, she will never be allowed off-leash in an unfenced area as she will follow her nose. A minimum of a 6-foot high, fully fenced wooden yard is mandatory.
Ongoing Health
Lola has a sensitive stomach and is currently on a chicken and rice diet with grains. She is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested negative, and was on heartworm prevention from August to November. She is also microchipped.
Training & Support
Lola will counter surf, which is typical of her breed. She requires to be tethered in the vehicle as she wants to be a backseat or front-seat passenger. She is a high-energy dog and will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She would be great in agility classes.
