NIXIE

Nixie is a lovely 2-year-old Shepherd/Pug mix who initially arrived at the shelter very fearful. She has since blossomed into a playful and affectionate dog, though she does take a little time to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, she'll lean into your pets and happily accept belly rubs. Nixie adores playing with other dogs and is a favorite in the play yard, enjoying wrestling and zoomies with her canine friends. She's about 55lbs, walks nicely on leash, and is manageable on walks. While she may occasionally react to other dogs, she redirects her attention easily with treats and guidance. Nixie is goofy, silly, playful, and full of personality, just needing a patient adopter to help her continue to build confidence.

Nixie would thrive in a home that understands she needs a little time and patience to build trust. She loves to play with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for her.

Nixie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Nixie is learning to manage her reactions to other dogs on walks with treats and guidance. She is a quick learner and will continue to benefit from positive reinforcement.
