Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyr who came to us from TX, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home. Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman. He wants to show his excitement, but he's not 100% sure how to. He likely wasn't given much affection or attention, but he definitely craves it. We suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time.

Ideal Home

Alder would benefit from a home with a calmer, playful dog. He is also likely to do well in a home with children beyond the screeching years. An ideal home would have a fenced yard, but this is not a dealbreaker as Alder walks well on a leash and can get his exercise with daily walks. However, he is not a dog that can be left to wander in a yard unsupervised.

Alder is a bit protective of his food and will need to be fed separately from other dogs. He is still learning how to interact with other dogs and decompress from his past experiences.
