Yoda

Meet Yoda, an 80-pound black shepherd mix with a personality as bright as sunshine! This smart boy is just 2 years old and already has a repertoire of impressive skills. Yoda loves football, cuddling on the couch, chasing bees, and most of all, spending time with his favorite humans. He's currently excelling in obedience training and wins over everyone he meets with his affectionate and sweet nature. He's a quick learner and knows how to sit, fetch, and use a doggy door. Yoda is good with his toys and shows no possessiveness. He has a perfect balance of playful energy and relaxation, always wanting to be close to his people.

Ideal Home

Yoda has been great with children and visitors to his home. While he previously did well with other dogs, he now seems to prefer being the only canine companion. He would thrive in a home with a fenced-in backyard where he can exercise and show off his fetching skills. He needs patience and positive reinforcement to continue his journey.

Ongoing Health

Yoda is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Yoda is learning to walk on a leash, and while he can sometimes whine and pull when he sees other dogs, animals, or people, he is easily redirected. He sometimes forgets his own size around people but responds well to the "down" command and hand gestures. He rarely barks and is generally quiet, and he has had no accidents in the home or his kennel. He goes into his kennel easily and sleeps through the night. His caretakers are happy to provide a dog crate and food for a foster home.
