MEET BUDDY! Buddy is a young, intelligent, and loyal Doberman with a sweet and happy demeanor. Despite a rough start in life, where he was found tangled and malnourished, Buddy has maintained a positive outlook and has been a wonderful houseguest. He enjoys meeting people and is respectful, never jumping up. Buddy is also intuitive about safety and protective of his loved ones. He is good with other dogs, taking cues from them and his people, and enjoys playtime. Buddy is very smart and food-motivated, making him a joy to train. He already knows several commands like recall, "place," "sit," and "kennel," and he patiently waits to be released before eating.
Ideal Home
Buddy would thrive in a home with another playful and balanced dog. Alternatively, an owner dedicated to continued training would be ideal, as Buddy loves to learn and receive positive reinforcement. He would do well with older children but is not recommended for homes with small children due to his energy levels. A securely fenced yard in very good condition is required.
Ongoing Health
Buddy is currently undergoing slow-kill treatment for heartworm, having tested very lightly positive after a previous negative test. He is receiving gut supplements as part of his raw food diet, which has significantly improved his health and resolved his previous skin issues, leaving him with a glossy red coat. He will have some scars from his past, but these do not affect his overall health. Buddy has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccines.
Training & Support
Buddy is a quick learner and highly responsive to training. His initial training has been very positive due to his eagerness to please. He walks well on a leash and enjoys daily exercise, whether it's running or a leisurely walk.
