Dagger is a playful and affectionate 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix with a heart full of cuddles and a spirit of adventure! This smart girl, weighing 40 pounds, is estimated to reach a large size when fully grown. She was rescued with her mom and siblings from a rural area and has since blossomed in a loving foster home. Dagger is named for the distinct dagger-shaped white marking on her neck. She's already mastered potty training and is growing into a confident, well-rounded dog. Dagger is an energetic explorer who loves to test boundaries, but her favorite place is curled up with her person, offering sweet love nibbles. She's social, friendly with strangers, and enjoys playing with other dogs, having been raised with her littermates and mom. She has also done well around children.
Ideal Home
Dagger is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building her confidence, and helping her mature into an exceptional adult dog. Due to her energetic nature and young age, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time. We also strongly prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide her. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization and canine interaction.

Training & Support
Dagger is potty trained and continues to learn about the world around her. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help her thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is essential for building her lifelong confidence.

- Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved.
- If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
- Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview.
- This is followed by a video call with the foster home.
- Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.
