Meet Ponderosa, or Pondsy for short! He's an almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix, weighing about 60 pounds of pure sunshine, goofiness, and "goodest boy" energy. Pondsy has a shiny black coat and warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he's excited to see his people, he does his signature "Pondsy Wiggle," his tail wags furiously, and he'll happily flop over for belly rubs. He's a curious and silly pup who loves to be included in all your adventures, whether it's hiking, walking, or napping in the car. After a fun day, he's also a total snuggle bug who loves to relax with his favorite people.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would do best in a home without cats, as they are too interesting for him. He also prefers a home without small children, as they can be overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults are a great fit for him, and he'll bond deeply with them. While he could adapt to apartment living (first floor preferred) with enough exercise and mental stimulation, a yard would make him extra happy. He adores other dogs and would thrive with a friendly, medium-energy female dog to play with, but he would also be content as an only pet, soaking up all the attention.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy is a resilient boy who underwent leg surgery and physical therapy. He's come through it stronger and happier than ever! His back leg has a unique charm now but doesn't slow him down at all; he loves to run, play, and zoom just like any other dog.

Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You will be able to track your pet's journey in real-time, receive photo updates, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through a private Facebook event page.
