Bugsy

Bugsy is a sweet 10-year-old Chihuahua who found himself abandoned and with a few health issues. Thankfully, he's made a remarkable recovery and is now looking for a loving home to call his own! The frostbite on his ears resulted in some hair loss, but it doesn't bother him. His dental infection is a thing of the past after a much-needed dental procedure, and his teeth are now in great shape. He has some minor age-related clouding in his eyes, but his vision is still good, and he's full of energy, enjoying short bursts of playtime. Bugsy is neutered, heartworm tested, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives.

Ideal Home

Bugsy would do best in a home with an experienced Chihuahua owner who understands their unique personalities. He can be a bit particular about who he likes and may nip if asked to do something he doesn't want to or handled by someone he dislikes. For this reason, a home without small children would be ideal. He's indifferent to other animals and would be content as a solo pet or with another animal that gives him his space. He thrives on human attention, so a home where someone works from home or is retired would be perfect for him.

Ongoing Health

Bugsy is a healthy boy! His ear frostbite caused some hair loss but no lasting issues. He had a dental extraction and is now doing well. He has minor age-related eye clouding, but his vision is good.

Training & Support

Bugsy can be protective of his favorite people and may nip if he feels uncomfortable or is pushed to do something he doesn't want to. An owner experienced with Chihuahuas will be best equipped to understand and manage his behaviors.
