Meet Sandy! This one-year-old Lab/Pit Bull mix is a true gem with a stunning silvery-gray coat, an award-winning smile, and a heart full of devotion. Sandy is a people-pleaser who thrives on being an integral part of the family. She's a curious observer, always wanting to know what's happening, whether it's dinner prep or homework time. Sandy also has a delightful obsession with toys – carrying them, playing fetch, and showing them off are some of her favorite pastimes. Her enthusiastic morning zoomies are a guaranteed mood-booster! She's a well-behaved crate companion and an excellent car passenger, though her happiest place is always by her family's side. Sandy gets along wonderfully with other dogs, showing a particular fondness for smaller canine friends, and she's even lived harmoniously with chickens. She's a sensitive soul who appreciates when relationships are built at her pace, and with a little understanding and respect for her boundaries, her incredibly sweet and loyal personality truly shines.
Ideal Home
Sandy would thrive in a home where she can be a quiet observer and participant, feeling included without constant pressure. She would do best with a dog-savvy adopter who can help her continue to build confidence and navigate new experiences. A home with a yard would be ideal, offering space for play and exploration. While she adores children and has thrived with them, they are not a requirement. She's looking for someone who understands that confidence grows, trust deepens, and the most rewarding relationships often require a bit of patience.
Ongoing Health
Sandy is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and has been spayed. She is microchipped with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Sandy is food-motivated and eager to learn. Her foster family has worked on crate training, potty training, and leash walking, and she does well with these. She's a sensitive dog who can feel unsure when she's the center of attention. Adopters should be prepared to continue helping her build confidence by respecting her cues and boundaries.
