Ferka is a charming Chihuahua, about 4 years old and weighing around 9 lbs. She's a small dog with a grand personality and an even bigger heart! Ferka was found seeking shelter in a church and immediately showed her sweet, social nature by comfortably mingling with people and other dogs. She's a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with dogs, children, men, and women, and she's even friendly with strangers. Ferka is affectionate, playful, and loves to give kisses, always eager to be part of the action and receive human attention.
Ideal Home
Ferka would thrive in a home with tolerant, playful dogs, or with proper supervision, as her high energy can sometimes be a bit much for other pups. She cannot live with cats, as she has a tendency to chase them.
Ongoing Health
Ferka has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. She also has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Ferka is crate trained and rides calmly in the car. While she's a joy, it's important to note that rescue pets often require an adjustment period. Ferka is not house-trained, and patience and understanding are crucial to help her build trust and adapt to her new environment. Families with a background in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are ideal for this intelligent dog.

Transporation
Ferka is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trips. We offer door-to-door delivery, with scheduled trips occurring 3-4 times a year. A transport fee of $400 USD covers the journey from Mexico to your home, including all necessary legal documents and a USDA health certificate. We also provide real-time updates during her journey.
