Howdy! My name is Hank. I'm a handsome, long-haired blue Weimaraner, and yes, we exist! I'm a big boy, weighing in at about 100 pounds and standing tall, but don't let my size fool you. I'm a gentle giant who believes I'm the perfect lap dog, even if I am a bit too big for most laps! I'm about to celebrate my 8th birthday and am a mature gentleman looking for a fresh start. My past has been a little rough, but now I'm searching for a loving family who understands the Weimaraner breed and appreciates a big, cuddly companion. I'm a laid-back guy who enjoys walks, fetch, and most of all, just hanging out with my people. I'm also a big fan of treats, so you might want to keep those countertop snacks put away!
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a family who understands Weimaraners and appreciates a big, cuddly companion. I love being close to my people and am happiest when I'm simply hanging out with my family. I do not enjoy fireworks or thunder, so a family who can provide a quiet, safe place for me during storms would be wonderful.
Ongoing Health
I'm healthy and happy! I've been neutered, am up to date on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly prevention for heartworm, flea, tick, and parasites. My skin and nails needed some TLC when I arrived, but with soothing baths, regular nail trims, a healthy diet, and lots of love, I'm looking like the handsome fellow I was always meant to be. Calming treats or trazadone have been helpful for my noise sensitivity.
Training & Support
I've decided that crates are just not for me and am enjoying more freedom around the house. I'm a wonderful walking buddy and walk politely on a harness. I enjoy meeting new people and have excellent manners when we're out and about. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer calm, respectful canine friends. I have experience living with cats and got along just fine with six of them!
