About Halo and Rico

Halo and Rico are a bonded pair who came to us together and we would love to see them stay together! They are both approximately 2 years old and are ready to find their forever home.

Halo is a unique girl with the looks of a Boston Terrier but much larger, weighing in at a whopping 70 lbs! She's about 15 inches high at her shoulder with short legs. Halo recently finished her heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative, but she must be on year-round preventative. She loves people and belly rubs, and while she usually takes treats nicely, she can get a bit excited and wants to know what you have! She walks well on a leash, sometimes carrying it in her mouth, and enjoys playing with toys. Tough toys are best, as she's a quick toy destroyer! Halo loves her toys and balls, especially a Kong squeaky ball, and also enjoys chew bones. She uses a doggy door well and is good with other dogs who are friendly and willing to play, as she has a rough-and-tumble play style. Halo must have a fenced yard due to her curious nature.

Rico was a stray who was never claimed. He is neutered, heartworm negative (and also requires committed year-round preventative), and up to date on all his shots and preventatives. Rico is a frisbee champion and loves to play fetch, happily bringing the ball back. He's an intelligent boy who listens well and enjoys car rides. Rico also uses a doggy door and is good on a leash. He can be a bit grumbly when meeting new dogs but is willing to play once he knows them.

Halo and Rico met in their foster home and became instant comrades. Rico was a great support to Halo during her heartworm treatment. Their rough-and-tumble play style is a perfect match, and while they occasionally squabble over a toy, they quickly resolve it. They both have and enjoy a wide variety of toys and balls.

Ideal Home

A home with no other dogs, cats, or small children. A fenced yard is a must for their safety and to allow them to run and play. The ideal adopter will be dog-savvy and understand the time and patience needed for these two sweet but energetic dogs. Commitment to daily play times, including frisbee and fetch, is essential.

Ongoing Health

Halo must be on year-round heartworm preventative. Rico also needs to continue on heartworm preventative. Both are up to date on shots and flea/tick preventative.

Training & Support

Halo can get excited over treats and toys. Rico can be a bit grumbly when meeting new dogs. Both dogs have a rough-and-tumble play style. Daily playtimes are essential.
