Louise (aka Lou)

Hey there, I'm Lou! I'm a 2.5-year-old Shepherd/Doberman mix who's ready for my forever adventure. Life has been quite the journey, and I can't wait to share my heart of gold with a special human. I absolutely love training sessions and am generally a well-behaved companion on our outings. When things get a bit overwhelming, I'll let you know I need a little space. I enjoy playing chase with other dogs and squirrels, and while fetch isn't my favorite, I do love a good chew bone and a comfy spot to lounge. I'm a smart cookie, and sometimes I like to "play the long game" – I might sneak a snack if you're not looking! I have a large personality and plenty of silly antics to keep you entertained. I can even handle an 8-hour workday as long as we have some fun activities in the evening.

Ongoing Health

I'm a healthy pup! My medical needs have been fully addressed, including a blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel, and all necessary vaccinations and boosters. I've also been spayed.

Training & Support

I'm a smart girl and eager to learn! I can be a bit of a counter-surfer when you're not looking, so a little guidance will help. I've been working on my training and socializing in foster care, and I'll come with a detailed plan to help us succeed together. You'll receive up to four hours of free training from my foster and coordinator.

Transportation

I am currently in Illinois. If you are interested in fostering, you must be located in Illinois. Fosters may be asked to transport me to vet appointments, adoption events, or other activities.
