Darla

Darla is a sweet girl who has overcome a lot and is finally ready to shine! She can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but her tail will start wagging to show you the happy girl she is inside. Darla has learned that people can be friends and now offers sweet kisses and nose boops. She absolutely adores treats (especially turkey!) and greets everyone with excitement.

Ideal Home

Darla would thrive in a home that understands she needs time to settle in and can patiently work with her on her barking and slight nervousness around new people. A home without a constant stream of visitors would be ideal, allowing her to feel secure. While she doesn't require a canine companion, another dog who can model friendly interactions with people might be beneficial for her confidence.

Training & Support

Darla is working on her barking at people and sometimes has a small nervous pee when her leash is brought out. She is house-trained and loves going for walks, happily trotting along beside you without pulling. She doesn't seem bothered by other dogs and has shown no interest in cats. Darla sleeps soundly in her crate, which she happily considers her safe space. She's fine when left alone, often just relaxing and sleeping, though she might occasionally "borrow" some clothes for her bed. She doesn't know many commands yet.
