Otis is house trained, crate trained, and has lovely leash manners. When meeting new people, especially men, Otis needs a little time and thoughtful introductions. He can initially become overwhelmed or shut down if too much attention or handling is placed on him too quickly. He communicates discomfort by giving himself space, shying away from the uncertainty, but he remains gentle even when stressed and is not confrontational. He bonds hard to his people and is a slow-burn dog who needs relationship-building and patience to open up. With other dogs, Otis is more aloof than social and prefers calm, confident female dogs. He coexists respectfully and does not create conflict around food or toys. He was gentle, calm, and quietly curious when meeting the resident cat, and would likely live peacefully with calm or dog-savvy cats.

Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
