A little about them
Koda is a devoted, affectionate Cockapoo born in 2015 who loves cuddling, lap time, quiet play, and staying close to his people. He is loyal, protective, and alert, and may bark or growl when meeting someone new before relaxing and seeking affection.
Ideal Home
Koda needs a calm, low-traffic home without toddlers or constant activity. He has done well with older children ages 8–10 and gets along well with the children in his foster home. He is friendly with most dogs but can be overly enthusiastic and invade their personal space, so tolerant canine companions are the best match. He guards toys from other dogs and will need supervised play and separate chew times. A fenced yard is recommended for supervised outdoor time and gentle games of fetch.
Ongoing Health
Koda has a torn ACL and back issues, so he should avoid high jumps and frequent stairs. He may need discomfort medication if he is limping. He may breathe heavily at rest, though veterinary checks have shown good heart and lung function. Koda has few teeth remaining and enjoys bully sticks and soft chews.
Training & Support
Koda is potty trained but needs regular opportunities to go outside, especially while adjusting to a new home. He has previously been stressed by long, unattended crating but does well in a calm environment and when not left alone for long periods. His adoption includes lifetime free relationship-based training for behavioral concerns, excluding obedience training.
