Chocolate

Hi there! My name is Chocolate, and my name fits me perfectly because my heart is just as sweet. I was given this name by the kind staff at the vet clinic who met me right after I was rescued. Even though I was scared and sick at the time, they said I was gentle and full of love, and that’s how I became Chocolate — a name that reminds me of my fresh start. My life didn’t begin easily. One very hot day I was tied to my owner’s bicycle with a shoestring. I could barely breathe and my front paws were barely touching the ground. I tried to tell him something was wrong, but he didn’t understand. Then something amazing happened. A kind woman saw me struggling and rushed over to help. She untied me and even paid my owner so she could take me away and save my life. That was the moment everything began to change — the moment I met one of my foster moms. At first I was confused and a little sad because my old owner was all I had known. But soon I discovered something even better — real love and kindness. Now I live with two wonderful foster moms who treat me like family. I even have a sweet human sister who gives me the best kisses. For the first time in my life I learned what a soft bed feels like. I discovered toys (which I love!), and I even get homemade chicken sometimes — which is amazing! I also get to play with my foster siblings. Some are big, some are small, and like me they’re all waiting for their forever homes. I love to run and play, especially with my foster sister Moom. I’m very affectionate and love cuddles, kisses, and being close to my people. I’m fully potty trained and I really enjoy my crate — it’s my cozy safe space where I feel comfortable and secure. Car rides are still a little new for me and sometimes things with wheels can make me nervous, but with a patient and loving person I know I’ll continue to grow and feel more confident. Today I feel safe and happy, but my foster moms tell me there’s someone special out there who is meant just for me — someone looking for a loyal heart like mine. They also found an amazing rescue that helps so many dogs like me find their forever homes, and now I’m hoping my turn is coming soon. Could that person be you?
