Jamie

Meet Jamie! Jamie is a sweet, low-energy, 6-year-old, 85-pound male Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold. He's a medical rescue who came to us needing a lot of TLC. Jamie has bravely overcome an upper respiratory infection, dry skin, coat issues, and heartworms. He's now feeling much better, and his coat has come in beautifully! Jamie is a true champion of relaxation, preferring to lounge around and be comfortable whenever possible. He absolutely adores gentle pets and his favorite pastime is lying down and offering up his belly for rubs. You'll often find him happily acting as a "speed bump" by doorways, just enjoying his surroundings.

Ideal Home

Jamie is a gentle soul who loves children and has done well with even the smallest ones. He's a very calm and sweet companion. Due to some past negative experiences with other dogs, Jamie is fearful of new dogs and would do best as the only canine in his forever home. His biggest quirk is a fear of slick floors, so a home with plenty of carpet and rugs would be ideal for him as he continues to gain confidence.

Ongoing Health

Jamie has made a full recovery from his past medical issues and is now neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Jamie is house-trained and crate-trained, and appreciates having his own safe space. While he is slowly improving, he can get a little nervous in the car. He does tend to bark at strangers and loud noises, particularly sirens. He enjoys his walks but doesn't require a lot of strenuous exercise, making him a potential candidate for apartment living.

Jamie is currently in a foster home in DFW, Texas. Out-of-state adopters are responsible for arranging transport on their own.
