Rex is an approximately six-year-old shepherd mix with a deeply sensitive soul. He was found wandering the streets of Houston, seemingly abandoned by his previous owners. Despite this betrayal, Rex still longed for human connection and, in a moment of trust, jumped into a car with strangers, leading him to our rescue. He's a dog who remembers his past and misses the people who left him, and his confusion and longing are palpable. Rex has a strong, dominant personality but avoids conflict. He cautiously offers affection, leaning in for pets, but will vocalize with a growl if he feels uncomfortable or if someone is being too familiar. He responds to kindness and clearly yearns for it, though he is currently grieving his loss. Rex is not a simple dog; he has a strong character that requires an experienced adopter who understands his needs. We believe his perfect home exists and are hopeful for his future.
